Meet the Coaches

Head Coach Tera Freeman is from Wendell, North Carolina and is a graduate of Barton College.  Throughout her swimming career she was a member of the Wendell Swim Club, the Triangle Area YMCA, New Wave Swim Team.  She swam competitely for 13 years and swam for the East Wake High School Swim Team for four years, serving as Co-Captain and Captain.  Tera has taught both private and group swim lessons for ten years, and coached her summer swim league team for two years.  She has been coaching for the WBST for five years and assumed the position of Head Coach in August, 2011.

Casey Umberger joined the Barracudas as Assistant Coach in August, 2011.  Casey swam for WBST for 12 years and for Hunt High School for 4 years.  She also swam for Campbell University (Division 1) for 4 years.  She did an internship with (Harnett County Aquatics Club) in 2010 and has volunteered occasionally as a coach for Hunt High School.  She was Head lifeguard at Campbell University Pool from 2008-2011 and manager for the City of Wilson Pool from 2007-present.  She also served as supervisor for Campbell University Swim School (swimming lessons) in 2010.
