Practice, Practice, Practice
It takes practice to develop the proper technical skills for swimming. It also takes practice to develop the fitness level required for swimming. The Wilson Barracuda Swim Team offers five practice days a week.
Beginning groups of swimmers practice for an hour and are encouraged to make three each week. Individual swimmers can choose practice days to suit their schedule. Advanced groups usually swim more often and for a longer duration. It is normal for a young swimmer to take up to five years to work up to the advanced group.
Practice is year-round with periodic breaks usually associated installing the "bubble" cover in the fall and removal in the spring.
