Workout Levels and Groups
The team is currently divided into levels which are split into groups. These are designed to meet the needs and abilities of individual swimmers.
(Monday - Friday; 2-3 Days per Week from 5-6pm)
Swimmers in this group need to be comfortable in the water on their stomach and back. Swimmers need to have the stamina to swim multiple laps in a row and continue swimming for an hour session without becoming too tired. In this group, you will learn the basics including all four strokes, their turns and starts, plus workout organization. You have two or three one-hour practices a week available to you. This is our beginning group composed of our typical 10 and under swimmers who have had a few years of swim lesson experience, but have never been on a team.
(Monday - Friday; 3 Days per Week from 5-6pm)
This group meets three times a week for one hour. Swimmers in this group have learned all four strokes, but still need a little work on technique. In this group we begin to learn more swimming terms, practice habits, and begin some basic conditioning. Swimmers will build stamina as they are introduced to longer distances and training techniques.
(Monday - Friday; 5-6:30pm)
This group is designed for middle school and older motivated swimmers. Practice workouts are one and a half hours and are available five days a week. The training is difficult and is designed to challenge swimmers to explore abilities they didn’t know they had. Swimmers in this group will be getting ready for high school swimming and or improving while swimming in high school.
(Monday - Friday; 5-7pm)
This group is composed of swimmers who are committed to being the best they can be. Minimum requirements are attendance at four to five two hour practices each week, ten 100’s freestyle on 1:30 and proficiency in other strokes. We explore new territory, push our limits, and challenge ourselves daily. This group will be preparing for swimming at the college level, masters level, or for life long exercise.
